A New Year’s Birthday Bash!

b day pic

Planning a 1st birthday party for New Year’s Day is not for the faint of heart! It’s right in the heart of the holiday season and just a few short hours after the biggest party night of the year (ouch)! In spite of it all….our New Year’s Birthday Bash went off without a hitch. Gracie was surrounded by all of her best friends and family and that’s all a girl can ask for. I can’t think of a better way to ring in the New Year!

Happy New Year and Happy Birthday to our girl! Cheers!

Thanksgiving DIY

Thanksgiving ProjectLast Thanksgiving, I hosted  an eclectic group of people who didn’t know each other! So, I had to play my cards (or place cards)  just right so everyone would have a good time! This little project helped so much.  These place cards were easy to make and multi-purpose. To start, they acted as place cards on the dinner table  with the name of each guest on the front secured to their napkin with my handmade sparkly clothespins (glue & glitter–easy!). On the back, was space for each guest to write down what they were thankful for. Since, many people were meeting for the first time….I found this way more comfortable than going around the table and saying it out loud. After dinner, we each went up and hung our cards on the fireplace with the twine I had secured before everyone arrived. It was a really sweet way to give thanks and also a great decoration to enjoy for the rest of the Thanksgiving season.
