Picture Perfect Pot Pie
My grandma’s pot pies were one of my favorite comfort foods growing up. I never attempted one in my own kitchen because it seemed way to labor intensive…until now. With a few tweaks…and pre- made dough (Sorry Grandma!) you can make this pretty as a picture pot pie tonight!
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Cook and cube chicken breast.
In a large pot or Dutch oven, melt butter and saute the onions over medium-low heat until translucent.
Add the flour and cook over low heat, stirring constantly, for 2 minutes. Add the hot chicken stock to the sauce. Simmer over low heat for 1 more minute, stirring, until thick. Add salt, pepper, and 1/2 & 1/2. Add the cubed chicken, carrots, peas, onions, mushrooms and potatoes.
Save yourself the headache and use pre-made dough! Bake until pie is slightly browned and inside is nice a bubbly.
